Baby Soap
One of the first questions of new parents is, “how do I bathe this baby?” Which soap is gentle enough for your baby’s skin? That’s a good question to ask. After all, not all soaps are the same. Read on for tips on how to choose soap that will get baby clean but still be gentle enough.
Baby’s skin is ultra thin and sensitive. Make sure to use soap that is:
Gentle
Harsh soaps can irritate baby’s skin. Soaps that are made especially for babies or for those with sensitive skin are most likely to be gentle. However, don’t stop there. Make sure that the soap is also …
Hypoallergenic

Check the label to make sure your baby’s soap is hypoallergenic. This means it is free from common allergens, such as fragrance. This reduces your baby’s chances of reacting to something in the soap.
Non-toxic
Again, check the label of the soap to make sure that it does not contain toxic chemicals. Babies easily ingest their bath soap, so you want to make sure that baby will be safe even if she swallows a little bit of her bath water.
SLS Free
Sodium Laurel Sulfate is a common soap ingredient. It’s used to create a lot of foam, however, it’s a harsh chemical that can damage the immune system and cause skin inflammation. Make sure your baby’s soap does not contain SLS!
A good baby soap is made only from natural ingredients. While it is gentle, natural baby soaps also help protect baby’s skin with natural emollients.
