Espresso, unlike coffee, is a sweet drink with a potent aroma. It tastes similar to normal coffee but it’s so much more. Espresso is made from specifically blended coffee beans which provide sweetness, aroma, and smoothness. It is also best enjoyed when it is freshly roasted, ground, and prepared within four days of roasting to get the best flavor. It is used as the base for lattes, macchiato, cappuccino, and mochas.

Doctors have explained in recent years how coffee can have significant health benefits if enjoyed in moderation. What is moderation according to the experts? Most will agree that two to three servings a day can be enjoyed by most people unless they have sensitivity to caffeine or a medical condition which could be made worse by consuming it.

Coffee beans, according to scientists, are a major source of healthful antioxidants. In fact, it is believed those consuming coffee-based drinks are probably getting more antioxidants from these beverages than from anything else they consume all day.

Medical science has indicated that espresso or other coffee beverages can help reduce your risk of developing Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, and colon cancer. They also explain about the mental-boosting ability. Some scientists claim coffee has the ability to help reduce the pain associated with migraine headaches and may improve brain health.

Of course, to receive any of the health benefits associated with coffee, you’ll want to drink it black. This will allow you to reap the benefits. However, some people may not enjoy coffee in this manner. Try using Stevia (a natural plant-based sweetener) or non-dairy soy milk to make black coffee more palatable. To get the most benefit, try espresso where the coffee is prepared with water under pressure to ensure the antioxidants and other nutrients are concentrated in each cup.

Research has gone on to indicate the antioxidants in coffee, especially when consumed as espresso, boosts our immune system and may help stave off heart disease. People who have a tendency toward depression may also experience some relief because coffee can produce “feel good” chemicals in the brain.

No one will deny coffee’s ability to help people concentrate and give them energy. It can make you more mentally alert and may even be able to fight cavities although most dentists won’t recommend giving small children caffeine.

Espresso, a good mood food, can do more than improve how you feel. The antioxidants in espresso have definite health benefits. When you need a pick-me-up either in the morning or during an afternoon energy slump, instead of reaching for a cup of ordinary coffee, why not try a draw of espresso instead.
